WEEE Disposal
E-Waste: Disposal Facilities
Electronic Waste Disposal
Sogliano Ambiente has expanded its capacity for the treatment and materials recovery of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment with the construction of a waste disposal facility for the handling of E-Waste that, if processed properly, can yield important fractions of materials such as copper, iron, steel, aluminum, glass, brass, plastic...to be reused to create new products.
In the new e-waste disposal facility of Sogliano Ambiente, any type of WEEE or end-of-life electronics can be processed: special or urban waste, hazardous or non-hazardous. In particular, the plant is equipped with two specific lines for the treatment of non-hazardous electronic waste and areas for the safe storage of hazardous waste.

1. The final treatment of non-hazardous WEEE
- Desktop and laptops
- Servers, switches, routers, firewalls, hubs, access points, and all kinds of networking devices
- Tablets, smartphones, cell phones and satellite navigation devices
- Payment terminals and pos terminals
- Telephone exchanges and desk phones
- Hard drives, nas and other data storage devices
- Printers, fax machines, copiers and plotters
- Projectors, webcams, calculators, keyboards, mice and other accessories
- Washing machines and dishwashers
- Electric ovens, exhaust hoods and electric heaters
- Vacuum cleaners, toasters, irons, scales, and other power tools
- Industrial equipment, electric motors, inverters, switchboards, transformers and capacitors
- Refurbished electromedical equipment
- Cables, spare parts and electronic components
2. The storage and materials recovery process for all other WEEE.
- Toners
- All types of batteries from electronic equipment
- PLASMA, LED, LCD and CRT televisions and monitors
- UPS uninterruptible power supplies
- Spotlights, streetlights, neons and other lighting systems
- Refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and heat pumps
- Air conditioners with outdoor or indoor units
- Large air conditioning systems
- Thin-film solar cells
From the safety measures taken, the volumetric reduction and sorting, both manual and mechanical, of electronic components and of the various fractions of materials that make up WEEE, the waste disposal facility of Sogliano Ambiente will obtain:

EOW (End of Waste) iron and steel scrap

Nonferrous metals (copper, aluminum, brass)

Rigid plastics

Electronic components with specific materials recovery chains (electronic boards, batteries)
