E-Waste Recycling Facilities
“We cannot say no to the environment. It is the one thing that just cannot go to waste”
Sogliano Ambiente S.p.A. was founded in 1996 with the aim of managing the "Ginestreto" landfill for municipal and special waste in Sogliano al Rubicone, in the province of Forlì-Cesena. A company specifically established to manage sustainable waste recycling facilities with a strong sense of responsibility.
What has set Sogliano Ambiente apart from the beginning is its innovative approach to waste management, geared toward social responsibility and the sustainability of the site. The focus of all of the waste treatment facilities of the company is to create energy resources and jobs, operating in complete harmony with the environment and with full respect for human health.
Today, Sogliano Ambiente treasures a high level of professional skills, a highly effective and transparent model of managing the entire waste management cycle that has enabled it to expand its scope with the design, construction and operation of waste treatment facilities, as well as taking care of their management.

Over the years, new WEEE recycling facilities have been added to the first site in Ginestreto (G1) in the area of Sogliano al Rubicone (G2, G4). Moreover, since 2005, Sogliano Ambiente has built its own facilities for the treatment and recycling of dry and wet municipal and special waste, producing materials and energy.
In addition to these, which represent the core of its activities, Sogliano Ambiente offers complementary services and a range of solutions to produce energy from waste and systems that optimize the natural resources available on site (solar and hydroelectric power).
Sogliano Ambiente and its subsidiary Sogliano Ambiente Trasporti believe in the importance of working ethically and in a responsible manner in the pursuit of its mission. At the foundation of the process are the core values that the company identifies as fundamental, such as transparency, clarity, reliability and credibility.

Sogliano Ambiente's facilities turn waste into resources

1. Safe transportation of waste
The path of the waste to our waste treatment facilities is monitored by satellite systems.

2. Acceptance and sorting
Incoming waste arrives at the acceptance and sorting point, where rigorous inspections are performed to determine the origin and type of waste before it is sent to its specific destination.

3. Recovery of the wet waste fraction
The wet waste fraction coming from the waste sorting process reaches the stabilization facility for the production of agricultural soil conditioner and energy from biogas.

4. Recovery of the dry waste fraction
The dry fraction reaches the sorting plant where it is mechanically or manually separated into various components such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, wood, and metals. The sorted materials are mechanically pressed and the process for their recovery, reuse, and recycling then begins. The surplus from the processing phase can become fuel produced from waste.

5. Disposal in landfills
Waste that cannot be recycled or that cannot be further sorted is sent to the non-hazardous waste landfill where biogas recovery for energy purposes takes place. Landfill leachate is also purified on site.

6. Clean energy
The Model of Sogliano Ambiente allows to produce additional clean energy generated by:
- Heat recovery of flue gas from power plants
- Photovoltaic systems that can be incorporated into structures
- Hydropower plants that can be built on waterways and reservoirs

7. Recovery of photovoltaic panels and WEEE
The e-waste treatment plant deals with the treatment and recovery of any type of waste from discarded electrical and electronic devices, both hazardous and non-hazardous, with the aim of producing new raw materials such as EOW (End of Waste) Iron Scrap (EU Reg. No. 333/2011) and EOW Glass Cullet (EU Reg. No. 1179/2012).
